Who runs Bookmark Ace

Bookmark Ace (bookmarkace.com) is run by one person in the United Kingdom. Accounts are approved by hand.

What is stored

Your name, email address and a hashed password; your folders, bookmarks, descriptions and tags; when you added and last opened each bookmark and how often; the tokens your browser extensions use; and a short log of sign-ins and security changes (with the IP address and browser). Nightly backups of your bookmarks are kept for 14 days. Sites’ icons are fetched and shared between users, but nothing ties an icon to you.

Who can see it

Only you. Bookmarks are private unless you mark them public and publish a folder; then anyone with that folder’s link can see its public bookmarks (never your tags, visit counts or private bookmarks). The administrator can see your name, email address, when you joined and how many bookmarks you have, but not the bookmarks themselves. Nothing is sold or shared.

Cookies

Only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and to protect forms. No tracking or advertising.

Email

You get email only about your account: when it is approved, and password resets you ask for.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete my account removes your account and everything in it straight away — bookmarks, tags, tokens, imports, exports and backups — after offering you a copy. The security log keeps a note that an account was deleted, with nothing that identifies you.
